LEWISBURG — Tri-County North senior Chelsey Strawser signed to play soccer at Defiance College on Friday, March 6.

Following the celebratory signing, Strawser said that she first visited Bluffton University, but when she visited Defiance College it was the soccer girls that made her feel comfortable. She said, “They were talking to me and they really made me feel at home. It felt like my high school team.”

Strawser started playing soccer at the age of seven. Strawser played soccer for Tri-County North Varsity girls soccer team for four years, during which she was the captain for two years. Her primary position is center back, but she also plays outside back.

“I’m really excited for college, I want to continue my soccer career and that’s my favorite part about high school. Being able to continue is going to be really fun,” she added.

Strawser has a 4.0 and has been a National Honor Society member for the last three years. She has been tied for first place in class ranking. She has been attending Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC), where she takes Sports Medicine.

Strawser will be majoring in Pre-Medicine. She hopes to one day become a neurosurgeon and plans to achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher in college.
