EATON — The Preble County Stingrays swim team opened its season with an inter squad meet. The Yanks vs The Aussies, with the Aussies coming out on the winning side this year, 135-133.

“The weather has not really been working with us and we have spent a lot of time out of the water putting us behind in training. The kids really swam well considering the amount of time that we have not been in the water” Stingrays Coach Dave Montgomery said.

The Stingrays were scheduled to host a meet on Tuesday, June 20, against Germantown. The team is scheduled to travel to West Carrollton on Thursday, June 22 and will host the 10th annual Preble County Invitational Saturday, June 24. The invitational is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., and features swim teams from all over Southwestern Ohio, according to Montgomery.
