WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley South girls soccer only had one game this week, but they made it count.

The Panthers shut out Middletown Christian while continuing to show off their offensive firepower, upending the Eagles 5-0 on Thursday, Sept. 10. The win keeps South undefeated on the season.

“(The game) was a lot of possession by my mids with Sidney (Vorhis) taking and making all the correct runs and plays to really free up space for her teammates,” said TVS head coach Chad Newport. “She drew a lot of the defense to her by making next level runs and holding the ball high for us.”

The Panthers started off the fun with an early goal by Abby Creech, who put the ball in the back of the net off an assist from Vorhis.

Creech then tallied assist on South’s next three goals, distributing the ball to Victoria Denlinger – who scored two goals – and Aubree Kutz.

South enjoyed their comfortable lead for the entire second half. Vorhis finished off a run and pass to Morgan Newhart, who was able to score the Panthers fifth and final goal on the night.

“I believe our possession was able to hold the ball to limit Middletown Christian,” said Newport.

South’s keepers only touched the ball three times during the game – all three times were with their feet.

The win moves the Panthers to 5-0-1 on the season. They were scheduled for a Preble County showdown against Preble Shawnee on Monday, Sept. 14, before hosting Stivers on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
