Eaton comes up short — twice

EATON — Eaton’s boys’ basketball team dropped a pair of games last week leading up to the holiday break. The Eagles lost a tough game to Talawanda on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 47-41.

Both teams played even in the first half with the score knotted at 20-20 after two quarters. Talawanda held a three-point advantage at the end of the third period and held on to take the win. Senior Grant Sullender led the Eagles with 14 points.

On Friday, Eaton traveled to Franklin to take on the Wildcats, who were coming off their first loss of the season earlier in the week. Eaton fell behind early in the game, down 10 at the end of the first quarter. Franklin went on to post an 87-46 win.

The Eagles are set to travel to Tri-Village on Friday, Dec. 29, to play in the Patriots holiday tournament. They will take on Ansonia at 6 p.m. The finals and consolation game are set for Saturday.
