Eaton swimmers 2nd at SWBL

TROTWOOD — Eaton’s boys’ swimming team capped off the regular season with a second place finish at the Southwestern Buckeye League meet at Trotwood-Madison on Friday, Feb. 2.

The Eagles tallied 94 points to finish behind league champion Bellbrook (145).

Eaton’s girls scored 50 points to finish fifth. Oakwood won the meet with 195 points.

Conley Mitchell, Tyler Gregory, Josh Pool, and Nate Crammer were second in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1 minute, 46.36 seconds.

Nate Crammer placed fourth in the 200 IM with 2:16.05.

Tyler Gregory won in the 50 Free with a time of 23.20 and Aaron Scholl took fourth with 24.46.

Josh Pool (57.45) and Nate Crammer (1:01.68) finished second and third respectively in the 100 Butterfly.

Tyler Gregory placed second in the 100 Free with 51.35 and Aaron Scholl placed fourth with 56.06.

Conley Mitchell was sixth in the 500 Free with 5:35.73.

Tyler Gregory, Nate Crammer, Josh Pool, and Aaron Scholl placed second in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:35.88.

Josh Pool (1:00.77) placed fourth and Conley Mitchell (1:03.16) placed fifth in the 100 Backstroke.

Aaron Scholl, Sam Lawson, Andrew Brooks, and Conley Mitchell finished the meet with a fourth place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:07.46.

For the girls, Maddie Baker, Lauren Ferguson, Sasha Taxter, and Abby Liddy smashed the 200 Medley Relay school record with a 2:01.65 and gained a third place finish.

Abby Liddy placed first in the 50 Free with 27.25.

Sasha Taxter placed sixth in the 100 Fly after coming back from an injury with a 1:10.79.

Lauren Ferguson placed fifth in the 100 Free with a 1:00.29.

Sasha Taxter, Lauren Ferguson, Madison Lakes, and Abby Liddy placed sixth in the 200 Free Relay with 1:55.27.

Maddie Baker placed sixth in the 100 backstroke with a 1:13.78.

Lauren Ferguson rounded out the meet with a fourth place finish in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.51.

“It was an exciting night with some close races,” Eaton coach Kajsa Ruebush said. “We are in full taper now in preparation for sectionals. I can’t wait to see what else our team can do.”

The sectional meet with be held Friday, Feb. 9, for the boys team. The girls sectional is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10. Both meets are at Trotwood-Madison.
