Girls soccer

The Eaton girls soccer team put two in the win column this week, scoring back-to-back wins over Brookville and Greenville on the week.

The Eagles upended Brookville 2-1 on Thursday, Oct. 1, getting goals from Tyler Pittman and Jessica Spitler. Pittman and Hannah Wray were both added with an assist.

They also ousted Greenville on Saturday, Oct. 3, outlasting the Green Wave 3-2 on a nasty, cold day. Chelsea Cruze, Pittman, and Mariyah McKelvin all found the back of the net for the Eagles. Hallie Wilt had one assist while Kate Bulach contributed two on the day.

Boys soccer

Eaton soccer is beat-up and continues to nurse injuries, depleting the team’s bench and making wins hard to come by. The Eagles lost two games on the week, losing 4-1 to Oakwood on Tuesday, Sept. 29 before falling at Brookville 5-0 before finding redemption against Greenville 1-0.

James Howard scored the lone goal for the Eagles against the Green Wave.

Twin Valley South lost to Franklin Monroe 3-0 on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Preble Shawnee scored a big win over inter-county rival National Trail, beating the Blazers 10-0 on Monday, Sept. 28. The Arrows got goals from Kole Monebrake (2), Bailey Hedge (2), Tyler Blankenship, Luke Feck (3), Cameron Coatney and Austin Carter. They then dropped a contest at Dixie, losing to their SWBL opponent 5-2 before knotting a tie with Waynesville 2-2 on Thursday, Oct. 1.

National Trail lost to Middletown Madison 10-0 on Saturday, Oct. 3.
