Souths wins in extra innings

WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley South’s baseball team secured a 4-3, 8-inning win, on Tuesday, April 19.

South rallied from an early 2-0 deficit for the win.

After Bethel scored twice in the top of the first inning, South’s Jacob Bassler got his only hit of the game in the bottom of the inning, when he clubbed a three-run home run to give his team a 3-2 lead.

The Bees responded with a run in the top of the second and neither team scored again until South plated the winning-run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth..

With the bases loaded, Chad Ehler was hit by a pitch to score the winning run.

Jacob Bassler pitched all eight innings for the Panthers.

Ryan Bassler was 3-for-4, scoring twice, including the game winning run.

The Panthers are scheduled to host Stiver on Friday, before hosting Eaton on Saturday for a doubleheader. The first game Saturday is scheduled to begin at 11.m.
