Hemp K’s 10 in Panthers’ win

DAYTON — A five-run seventh inning helped Tri-County North secure a 14-5 win over Northridge on Friday, April 29.

The Panthers scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Riley Cruse, a single by Megan Hemp, an error, and an RBI double by Morgan Helman.

Helman had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits for the Panthers.

Hemp was a workhorse on the mound, picking up the win for North. She allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out 10 in the complete game effort.

Hemp, Helman, Taylor Green and Cruse combined for nine hits and seven RBIs for North.

North never trailed after scoring one run in the third on an RBI single by Hemp.

The Panthers pushed across four runs in both the fourth inning and the sixth.

Three runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Northridge close the deficit to 5-3. The Polar Bears scored on a two-run triple and an RBI single

The Tri-County North Panthers tacked on another four runs in the sixth. An error scored Green and Brooke Timmons to start the scoring in the inning.

North was scheduled to play at Oakwood on Monday and Twin Valley South on Tuesday. They are to host Milton-Union on Wednesday, Arcanum on Thursday and Eaton on Friday. The Panthers will close out the week by traveling to Tri-Village for a doubleheader on Saturday.
