BRADFORD — The Twin Valley South baseball team beat Bradford 8-3 in sectional postseason action. The Panthers scored three runs in the third inning, four in the fifth, and one in the six. Bradford didn’t score any runs until the sixth and seventh innings but was too late to provide a rallying contest.

Jacob Bassler pitched a complete game for the Panthers.

“Jacob did a nice job of keeping their hitters off balance and giving our defense very good opportunities to make plays,” said Head Coach Cory Bassler after the game.

Bassler went 2-for-3, highlighted by a 3-run homer in the third inning, three RBIs, two runs. Ryan Bassler also went 2-for-3, with two runs. Cody Roell went 2-for-4 at the plate, with an RBI and one run. Travis Lovely went 2-for-2, and had two RBIs.

“We still have to get better, particularly at making more consistent contact at the plate, but tonight we did a good job of getting hits with runners in scoring position and capitalizing on opportunities,” said Coach Bassler.

With the win, TVS improves to 13-10 on the season, which includes winning six of their last seven contests. Twin Valley South will play on Wednesday, May 18, at Troy against third-seed Pleasant Hill Newton. Start time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
