NEW PARIS — The National Trail boys soccer team played against Newton in Cross Country Conference action on Thursday, Sept. 1, losing 4-0 on the night.

“The boys played a terrific game,” said new coach Mariah Bourne after the game. “We did lose 4-0, which is a huge improvement from last year’s game where they lost 15-0, last season. I’m so proud of the game they played tonight. They played with heart and overall had a great game.”

Junior goalkeeper Andrew Willett had 22 saves on goal.

National Trail is scheduled to play on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Franklin-Monroe.
