NEW LEBANON — Preble Shawnee’s tennis team is continuing to rack up the wins this season, winning on the road against Southwestern Buckeye League foe Dixie, 5-0 last week.

Shawnee is now 9-0 overall, and currently 4-0 in the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division.

“We gained five more valuable league points tonight, but we had to work very hard for that second doubles match,” said coach Dave Hubbard. “Dixie did a nice job of controlling the net and dictating play in the first set. Lauren and Kirsten turned things around in the second set and did a great job closing out the third and securing the sweep.”

Individual and dual scores:

Singles:

1) Ashlyn Hubbard d. Gracie Whittaker — 6-0, 6-0

2) Allison Zornes d. Lily Pedrotti — 6-1, 6-1

3) Alivia Reek d. JoDee Baker — 6-0, 6-0

Doubles:

1) Sidney Quillen/Jane Feck d. Allie Allen/Reanna Chatterton — 6-0, 6-1

2) Lauren Smith/Kirsten Boone d. Haley Felts/Emma Wardlaw — 4-6, 6-1, 6-4

The Lady Arrows were slated to play against Greenview on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at home. They are to visit Hamilton on Wednesday and host Waynesville on Thursday.
