GREENVILLE — National Trail and Tri-County North boys golf teams each placed in the top four at the sectional tournament held at Turtle Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 27, to advance to next week’s district tournament.

National Trail, led by senior Logan Petitt, finished third in the sectional with a team score of 384, while North finished fourth with a 387, just one point ahead of fifth place Arcanum who had a 388.

Petitt had the low score for the Blazers on the day, shooting an 85. He was followed by fellow seniors Isaac Plankenhorn, who carded a 90, and Bryten Jones, who shot a 97.

For Tri-County North, Ethan Kelly and Zach Tincher both scored a 91 on the day, while Brett Booso finished with a 101.

“It is a great achievement for this team and especially these seniors to have the opportunity to play in the OHSAA district golf tournament,” said Trail coach Kurt Bachman. “The team has worked hard recently trying to put themselves in a position where they would be able to advance in the state tournament and proved today that their work has paid off.”

The Blazers and the Panthers will be playing in the Southwest District Golf Tournament at Beavercreek Golf Club on Thursday, Oct. 6.
