OAKWOOD — The Eaton boys soccer team shut out Oakwood, 4-0, in a Southwestern Buckeye League match on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

The Eagles scored first on a long throw from Grant Sullander to Dan Howard in the box, two minutes into the game. Eaton was able to dominate the remainder of the first half.

“They are a good team,” said Eaton coach Matt Money. “But late in the half, Oakwood had a corner kick that nearly scored on us had it not been for goalie Todd Piekutowski, who made the big save to preserve the lead.”

In the second half, the Eagles came right back out with James Howard scoring on an assist from brother Dan, and a third goal coming minutes later from the Dan-to-James combination.

Daniel Howard got the fourth goal of the night from Christofer Hudgel, who added the assist.

“Todd did a lot of preventative goalkeeping for us,” Money aid.

Eaton is now 4-4 in the league, and 5-5 overall. Eaton was scheduled to host an SWBL match against Brookville on Thursday, Sept. 29.
