CAMDEN — The Preble Shawnee girls soccer team won its tenth game of the season Thursday, Oct. 6, beating Xenia Christian, 4-0.

The Lady Arrows, who have shutout their last four opponents, controlled the game as they have for much of the latter part of the season, having possession of the ball and keeping the play of the match on the opponent’s half of the pitch throughout much of the game. Shawnee held a 2-0 lead at the half, and scored two more goals in the second half to seal the victory.

“I felt that, despite the score, we didn’t play well,” said Shawnee coach Kevin Schaeffer. “I’m pretty demanding, and we really need to play a lot better now that the end of the season is closing in. We can’t bring our B-game into the post season, or all of our efforts in the regular season will be for nothing. I liked the play of the underclassmen though, so it wasn’t all bad.”

Preble Shawnee is currently 10-2-1. Their next two games were scheduled for Monday, Oct. 10, against Dixie, and on Tuesday, Oct. 11, against Madison. They will close out the regular season by hosting Milton-Union on Thursday.
