ARCANUM — The Tri-County North volleyball team lost to the No. 2 seed Fort Loramie Lady Redskins in three sets, 14-25, 6-25 and 11-25 on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

North had a first round bye in the sectional tournament.

The Redskins never lost a lead in the three sets. In the first set, North was down 17-3 before staging a comeback. The Panthers outscored Fort Loramie 11-8 after that break, but eventually lost.

The second set wasn’t even close, as Fort Loramie started off with a 14-1 lead and never looked back. The third and final set was similar to the first set, but superior blocking and serving aces sealed North’s fate near the second half of the set.

“It was a hard loss for us indeed,” said North coach Melissa Wilson-Stockwell. “They had a little more height, a little more talent and are a very well-equipped program. That will be us in the future.”

“This team has grown a lot this season,” Wilson-Stockwell said. “There have been so many changes and challenges with me, and they accepted what I have asked from them. I’m very proud of them.”

The Lady Panthers ended their season with a 3-19 record.
