SWBL honors four area golfers

PREBLE COUNTY — The Southwestern Buckeye League recently announced the recipients of this year’s all-conference golf awards.

Eaton junior Sarah Willis earned first-team honors for her efforts in the Southwestern Division. Willis’ teammates Trevor Pittman and Sean Hodges earned second team and honorable mention respectively.

In the Buckeye Division, Preble Shawnee junior Michael Fritts earned honorable mention.

League team champions in the Buckeye and Southwestern divisions were Carlisle and Oakwood respectively. Carlisle tied with Milton-Union in the Buckeye Division team standings, but managed to win the league tournament by one point ahead of the Bulldogs. Oakwood dominated the Southwestern Division at 6-0 and the best overall team score of 302.

Preble Shawnee finished sixth in the Buckeye Division and Eaton finished fourth in the Southwestern Division tournament standings.
