EATON — DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita Inc., a provider of kidney care services, recently presented a $1,000 contribution to the Preble County Council on Aging.

On Wednesday, Dec. 28, Eaton DaVita Dialysis representatives presented Preble County Council on Aging with a $1,000 check as part of the “DaVita Way of Giving,” the company’s locally focused charitable giving initiative that helps nonprofit organizations throughout the United States grow and thrive.

Preble County Council on Aging is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides transportation for people who are unable to drive themselves to appointments or medical treatments.

In addition, PCCOA offers In Home-Services such as Home-Delivered Meals, and Homemaker Services. They also hold a variety of social activities at the senior center every day. DaVita teammates from Eaton DaVita Dialysis chose to donate to Preble County on Aging because they provide many of their patients with transportation to dialysis who otherwise would not be able to find a mode of transportation.

“Preble County Council on Aging offers a number of services including but not limited to providing transportation for our patients and they offer social events, which it is important for our patients to stay active in the community. Preble County Council on Aging encompasses several of the needs of our patients,” said Joy Bowers, a DaVita Social Worker.

Wanda Winter, Business & Financial Manager at Preble County Council on Aging said the DaVita contribution will go a long way to support its mission.

“This donation will help to provide vehicle maintenance and gas to assist with the transportation of those who need it,” said Winter.
