WEST ALEXANDRIA — Twin Valley South’s boys’ and girls’ track teams swept their respective team titles at the Preble County Track Meet.
South’s girls won 13 of the 17 events to run away from runner-up Tri-County North by more than 100 points. South tallied 178 points to North’s 73.
On the boys side, South won eight events en route to scoring 123 points to outdistance runner-up Eaton, which scored 110 points.
The meet was held Tuesday, April 25 at Twin Valley South.
South’s Mylan Crews won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was part of the Panthers’ winning 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams.
Madison Wright captured the 800- and 1,-600-meter run titles in addition to being part of the winning 4×800 and 4×400 relay teams.
Grace Stewart won the 400. Zoe Utsinger took first in the 3,200, while Abby Beneke won the 300 hurdles and Maggie Johnson won the discus.
Lynsey Hoskins took home first in the shot put.
Tri-County North’s Haley Thies was a double-winner in the 100 hurdles and the long jump.
Preble Shawnee’s Elise Walkers won the high jump and Eaton’s Kylie Moore won the pole vault.
South’s Troy Bowers won the 100 and 200 and was on the winning 4×200 relay.
Sammy Shockey won the 800, while Josh Chapman won the 110 hurdles and Payton Gates won the high jump.
South also won the 4×400 and 4×800 relays.
Eaton’s Conner Gowanny won the 400, while teammate Seth Gard captured titles in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs.
The Eagles’ Chase Smith was also a double-winner in the field events, winning both the shot put and discus.
National Trail’s Iam Miller won the 300 hurdles.
Tri-County North’s Brett Booso topped the field in the pole vault and Preble Shawnee’s Chase Thompson won the long jump.
