EATON — The Eaton volleyball team has jumped out to a red-hot start this season, sporting a 4-0 record and yet to drop a set in the year.

The Eagles started out the week against in-county opponent Tri-County North on Monday, Aug. 24. They only allowed 29 total points scored on them as they beat the Panthers in straight sets, 25-9, 25-12, and 25-8.

Leading Eaton was Jackie McCafferty with eight digs and four aces, Emma McKinney with 17 assists, Julia Titus with eight kills and five digs, and Breonna Gayhart with five aces.

They then hosted Shawnee on Thursday, Aug. 27 for their home opener. The Eagles never allowed the Arrows more than 15 points in their match-up, winning in straight sets again, 25-15, 25-10, 25-12

Titus led Eaton up front with 10 kills and three blocks and McKinney added 26 assists. Brandi Sittloh chipped in nine digs and four aces as McCafferty finished the day with 12 digs.

The Eagles closed out the week at home, hosting Edgewood and beating the away team rather handily, earning wins of 25-8, 25-20, and 25-5.

McCafferty was solid for Eaton once again, contributing 12 digs and six aces while McKinney continues to distribute the ball well, tallying 29 assists on the day. Titus and Allison Collins each finished with nine kills, apiece.

Eaton faces their toughest test of the year this week, as they begin SWBL play. They opened the week on the road against Franklin on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and will head to Bellbrook to take on the defending league champions on Thursday, Aug. 3.

Next week, they host Lemon Monroe on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
