OXFORD — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed the First American Loans office in Oxford last week.

At 12:11 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 officers were dispatched to a silent panic alarm at First American Loans, 5146 College Corner Pike, Suite B in Oxford, according to Oxford Police Chief John Jones.

While officers were still responding to the scene, dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from the employee at the business who reported she had been robbed at gunpoint and the male fled out of the back door of the store, according to OPD reports.

“Officers set up a perimeter and attempted a track with a K9, however the K9 was not able to pick up a track,” Jones said in a media release. “Nearby schools — Kramer Elementary and the McGuffey Montessori School — were advised of the situation and encouraged to enact their safety procedures.”

After further investigation, it is believed the suspect got into a silver sedan which was parked behind the business and fled the area,” Jones reported.

The suspect is a black male wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and tan ball cap. Photos were captured from the surveillance cameras at the business.

No suspects had been located at press time. If anyone has further information on this crime, they can contact OPD at 513-524-5240 or leave a message on the Crime Tip line at 513-524-5268.
