Helping out

Rebecca Richardson and Kristen Janson of the Preble Shawnee National Honor Society recently volunteered their time to pull weeds, plant flowers and spread mulch at the Marion Lawrence Library Park in Gratis. This service project helped beautify the park and their hard work was greatly appreciated by the library and the village of Gratis. The library thanks these students for the great contribution to the community.

Preble Shawnee NHS Induction Preble Shawnee inducted fourteen new students into the National Honor Society on April 16. Twelve sophomores were inducted: Addy Anspaugh, Lesley Coffey, Mackenzie Dishman, Trevor Dunn, Alec Hamblin, Nick Johnson, Kevin Ketring, Savannah Lynch, Sidney Quillen, Taylor Ross, Elise Walker and Brianna Wells. Two juniors were inducted: Vince Bulach and Nick Frost. Senior McKenna Simpson, President, led the ceremony by introducing the new inductees,their accomplishments, honors and community services. Senior Rebecca Richardson, Vice President, spoke about scholarship. Senior Dayna Bennett, Secretary, spoke about service. Senior Lauren Mayer, Reporter, spoke about leadership. Junior Johnathon Cottingim, Treasurer, spoke about character.

Martins recognized

Elizabeth Martin and Matthew Martin have both received recognition on the Indiana Wesleyan University Dean’s List for the Fall Semester of the 2014 academic year. To be named on this list, a student must obtain a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.00 scale and carry at least 12.0 graded credit hours for the semester. Elizabeth is a junior, Athletic Training major and Matthew is a sophomore, Accounting and Finance major.
