EATON — The Preble County Senior Center offers Mini-Trips on a regular basis. Unlike motorcoach trips, a mini-trip uses 10 passenger vans, making travel easier for some individuals. The trips are lower in cost. The day is shorter and the distance traveled is less. We are able to pick you up and return you to your home in some instances. The mini-trips are popular service that we provide and therefore we offer several throughout the year.
At this time the following mini-trips are available:
Tuesday, June 23 – The Greene Town Center, Beavercreek. The trip includes shopping, with lunch on your own.
Wednesday, July 15 – Whitewater Rafting, Brookville, Indiana. This trip includes rafting on a short scenic gentle river route. Lunch will be on your own at Ainsley’s Café at Brookville Lake.
Tuesday, July 28 – Hueston Woods, Oxford, Ohio. You will visit the Nature Center and the naturalist will talk about the bird program and the animals. We’ll look for fossils under the newly constructed covered bridge and then enjoy lunch is on your own at the Hueston Woods Lodge.
Tuesday, Aug. 18 – Paint the Towne, Richmond, Indiana. We’ll travel to the Historic Depot District in Richmond to paint your own pottery. You don’t need to be an artist to create a beautiful keepsake. Lunch will be on your own at Little Sheba’s.
Tuesday, Sept. 22 – Stone & Wood Mystery Tour. Our destination is about an hour from Eaton. The first stop has a breath taking view. Lunch will be on our own, followed by a tour of a wonderful and inspirational landmark, then a stop at a sweet attraction.
Saturday, Oct. 10 – Ride the Rails with Lincoln, Connersville, Indiana. You will travel through time on The Statesman as you spend the day with the 16th President Abraham Lincoln on a relaxing train excursion through the Whitewater Valley. You will have a two hour layover in Metamora. Lunch will be on your own.
