CAMDEN — Camden Police Chief Matt Spurlock recently reported on several arrests made in the village in the past two weeks.

On Sunday, Oct. 22, Anthony Conway, 19, of Somerville, was stopped by Camden Police while operating a vehicle with a broken taillight, and a white light emmiting at the rear of the vehicle. Conway was stopped while turning onto Sugar Valley Road from West Central Avenue, according to Spurlock.

Officers were able to deterimine they smelled a “strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.” According to Spurlock, officers searched Conway’s vehicle and located several items of drug paraphernalia and approximately 12 grams of marijuana.

“Conway was given a field sobriety test which he failed,” Spurlock reported.

Conway had a juvenile in the vehicle with him, according to Spurlock.

Conway was transported to the Preble County Jail and booked in on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and child endangering.

Conway’s initial court date was Monday, Oct. 23, the Eaton Municipal Court.

Levi A. Robertson, 23 and Garrie M. Noble, 27, were both arrested on multiple charges on Saturday, Oct. 21. Robertson’s charges include: criminal damaging, criminal trespass, driving under suspension, fail to control and registration required. noble’s charges include: obstructing offical business, criminal trespass and criminal damaging.

Both Robertson and Noble have an initial court date of Dec. 7, at the Eaton Municipal Court.

On Friday, Oct. 20, Javaril K. Hayes of Cincinnati was questioned by the Camden Police Department concerning a reckless driving report. While officers were speaking to Hayes “they were able to smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle,” Spurlock reported.

During a search of the vehicle officers located marijuana, several smoking devices and an open container of liquor.

Hayes’ initial court date will be Nov. 16, in the Camden Mayor’s Court.

On Monday, Oct. 16, Timothy L. Seabolt was arrested on two active arrest warrants. Seabolt had warrants for two counts of criminal trespass and one count menacing.

Seabolt was in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest and he will face additional charges, according to Spurlock.

On Friday, Oct. 13, David Bear was arrested on an active arrest warrant from Oxford Police Division. Camden PD came into contact with Bear on a traffic stop when Bear failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, according to Spurlock.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, Craig R. Blevins was arrested at 43 S. Lafayette St. on several active arrest warrants. Blevins failed to appear in court on several open cases, and warrants were issued for four counts of Breaking and entering, five counts of theft, and one count each of vandalism, tampering with evidence and possession of drugs, according to Spurlock.

“Blevins was also in possession of several hypodermic needles at the time of his arrest, and he will face additional charges,” Spurlock added.
