TimkenSteel celebrates expansion

EATON — Last month, TimkenSteel, a provider of customized alloy steel products and services, celebrated its recent expansion with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.

TimkenSteel’s St. Clair facility, located in Eaton, celebrated the commissioning of its new production lines which were part of an $8.98 million reinvestment project to support their customers in the automotive and industrial markets.

Brief remarks from Timken officials, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, were followed by refreshments and an opportunity to tour the facility on Thursday, Sept. 7.

TimkenSteel announced in early 2017 it would increase capacity and employment at its St. Clair plant to accommodate new operations which were formerly outsourced.

“We’re proud to be reinvesting in TimkenSteel’s St. Clair facility and, in turn, contributing to the City of Eaton and Preble County economy,” Jeremy Linder, plant manager at TimkenSteel’s St. Clair plant said in the announcement in March. “TimkenSteel products have been made in America for 100 years and our St. Clair plant has been part of the community for more than two decades. Our team members are proud of the work we do to support the automotive industry, and we thank Mayor Kirsch, City Manager Collins and the Preble County Economic Development Partnership for their support of this community reinvestment initiative.”

TimkenSteel’s St. Clair facility provides precision steel components to automotive and industrial customers. The operation added at least a dozen team members as a result of the re-investment. The new production lines are now in operation.
