Camden PD reports on incidents

CAMDEN — Camden Police Chief Matt Spurlock reported the following recent incidents in the village:

On Nov. 8, Fred Hill IV, 50, of Camden, was stopped by officers on U.S. 127 for a speeding violation. With assistance from the department K9, it was discovered Hill possessed marijuana and also multiple pipes used for smoking methamphetamine. He is due in the Camden Mayor’s Court on Dec. 7.

On Nov. 17, Jason Weinstiger, 27, of Camden, was charged with assault. Weinstiger told officers he and his children’s mother had gotten into a verbal argument and it had became very heated. Weinstiger advised “he was angry and he does not hit women so he punched his children’s mother’s boyfriend,” Spurlock reported. Weinstiger is due in the Eaton Municipal Court on Dec. 11.

On Nov. 21, Michelle Gross, 39, of Eaton, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Gross was involved in a physical altercation on South Main Street. Upon officers’ arrival Gross was in the roadway “cursing loudly and not listening to officers” accoridng to Spurlock, who reported Gross was highly intoxicated.

Also on Nov. 21, Hill IV was stopped on U.S. 127 for almost causing a crash when he pulled into traffic. Hill pulled in front of multiple vehicles and stalled his vehicle in traffic. Officers intiated a traffic stop. After speaking wth Hill, according to Spurlock, “he admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle.” Hill was also in the possession of pills for which he does not have a perscription, Spurlock reported. Hill is due in the Camden Mayors Court on Dec. 21, for possession of drugs, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
