PREBLE COUNTY — Preble County 4-H sent two teams to the state fair equine judging and hippology contest. They were well represented.

Members on the senior team were Sara Chaney, Morgan Hancock, Ashley O’Dell, and Debbie Thombragel. The junior team consisted of Audrey King, and Valerie Whitson. Both teams were coached by Scott Telford. The junior team received ninth place for hippology.

On the individual side, Whitson received fourth place for high halter. The senior team became the reserve grand champion overall. As a team, they placed second in halter, first in oral reasons, first in performance, and seventh in hippology.

Individually, Chaney received fourth place in performance, fifth in reasons, and seventh overall. Hancock received third in high halter, first for oral reasons, first in performance, and first overall grand champion. O’Dell placed 10th for oral reasons and eighth in hippology.

The team offers a special thanks to Scott Telford for all the many, countless hours he spent coaching the young ladies.
