Preble County auctioneer wins 2019 Michigan Auctioneer Championship

MT. PLEASANT, MICHIGAN — Last month in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Billy Peyton claimed the title of first place at the annual Michigan Auctioneers Championship contest.

For the championship title Peyton won a custom diamond ring, belt buckle and trophy. He will also receive a free entry to the International Auctioneers Championship in July.

Peyton is a 25 year old auctioneer from Preble County. He is a member of the Ohio Auctioneers Association, the Michigan Auctioneers Association, and the National Auctioneers Association. He is also a member of the Ohio Auctioneers Association board of directors.

Peyton is no stranger to top placements in major auctioneer championships. In 2017 he won the Ohio Auctioneers Association Junior Championship, and was ranked top 15 in the 2017 and 2018 International Auctioneers Championship.

In May of 2018 he competed in the World Automobile Auctioneers Championship and finished top 15 in the world, and last August he won the the prestigious Gotoauction Midwest Auctioneer Championship.
