City of Eaton seeking community park input

EATON — The City of Eaton is updating its master plan for the community’s park system this year and is seeking residents’ input.

“It is our goal to provide adequate structured and non-structured recreational opportunities for all residents,” Community Development Specialist Leslie Collins said last week.

“Amenities like parks improve the quality of life for residents, and are an important part of the community’s well-being,” Collins added. “Parks and facilities for recreational use give families safe places to play and interact with their neighbors and friends, as well as attract visitors to enjoy the area and support the economy.”

According to Collins, parks make neighborhoods more enjoyable to walk through, and provide spaces for popular sports — all of which encourages physical activities to improve the health of those who reside in the community.

City officials are encouraging residents to help them plan by responding to the survey which is available online at https://bit.ly/3uSwPmZ. The survey may also be printed from the website, or picked up at the Eaton City Building, 328 N. Maple St., Eaton. Completed paper surveys can be dropped off at the City Building, or mailed to P.O. Box 27, Eaton OH 45320, or returned via email to [email protected].
