EATON — A Preble County grand jury indicted a West Alexandria man last week on 21 charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault of two girls.

Carl M. Bechtol, 52, a resident at 756 Quaker Trace Road in West Alexandria, was indicted on charges including rape with specification (two counts,) sexual battery with specification, gross sexual imposition, gross sexual imposition with specification, importuning, rape with specification (two counts,) sexual battery with specification, gross sexual imposition, gross sexual imposition with specification, rape with specification (two counts,) sexual battery with specification, gross sexual imposition and gross sexual imposition with specification.

Bechtol was arrested on March 19, and remained incarcerated in the Preble County Jail at press time.

The grand jury also issued the following indictments: Alexis Carolyn Hines, 2040 Ley Avenue, Cincinnati, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of cocaine, possessing drug abuse instruments, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of a vehice and resisting arrest; Matthew Alan Garwood, 228 Western Ave., Lewisburg, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Jason Lee Hunt, 568 Ohio 121, New Paris, possession of heroin, possession of heroin & illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Dalton T.S. Flatter, 3158 Hollansburg-Tampico Rd., Hollansburg, Aggravated possession of drugs, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, falsification and possession of marijuana.

Also: William R. Shepherd, 10 Shoreline Dr., Brookville, Ohio, aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Jack A. Dawson, 101 W. Dayton St., West Alexandria, aggravated possession of drugs and possessing drug abuse instruments; Michael Ann Harding, 910 Holiday Avenue, Hamilton, aggravated possession of drugs, possessing drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia; Jacob B. Davis, 448 Swisher Mill Road, West Manchester, having weapons while under disability, tampering with evidence, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, criminal damaging or endangering, criminal trespass and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
