Whispering Oak’s story shared

EATON — On Monday, Jan. 23, the Preble County Historical Society and the Preble Players combined efforts to present the story of the Whispering Oak tree located at Ft St Clair in Eaton.

Lisa Marling, director of the Preble Players, wrote a story about the historic tree in a journal-like manner. She and Rusty Garber read aloud the journal entries from 1792 as brother and sister.

Visitors really enjoyed the story and look forward to visiting the site in the spring, according to Preble County Historical Society Executive Director Lisa White.
