Three pitchers toed the mound for Milton-Union. Jacob Grube worked one inning, surrendered four hits and three earned runs. Peyton Nichols pitched three innings, gave up eight hits, four runs (two earned), with four strikeouts. Karson Stone pitched one inning and got tagged for five earned runs on four hits with one walk and one strikeout.

“It was just a good baseball game,” said Brookville coach Tyler Eaton. “We played good defense early and that set the tone. Lately we haven’t played great defense, which means that we don’t swing the bat as great.

“This game we came out and made a couple of solid plays defensively early and our pitcher stayed in the zone early, which gave our offense the chance to get it going early,” Eaton added. “Good things happen when you pitch, play defense and allow your offense to work.”

With the non-league win Brookville improved to 12-7 overall while Milton-Union fell to 6-8.
