EATON — The Preble County Board of Commissioners met Monday, May 8, for their regular session meeting. During which they reviewed and approved various business items and met with the Preble County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) board for updates.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but our most exciting thing coming up is we started with Yodel,” began CVB President Stephanie Garrett. “It’s a community calendar. We started with 200 places that have events, and we’re really excited about it.”

Garrett explained Yodel is a platform to keep the community informed about events happening all over Preble County at various levels, be it community, village hosted, township or county.

“The whole idea is if it’s a Monday, you see what’s happening. It might be a chicken dinner at the Baptist church, or it might be a football game in Lewisburg,” said Garrett.

Garrett added, Yodel can be customized to prioritize events of personal preference.

CVB Vice President Debbie Mason noted that the CVB has also worked with the Preble County School districts to keep the community informed about school events open to the public, as well. “If someone wants to see just Preble Shawnee stuff, or just TCN stuff, they can do that. But it’s anything. Like Bushrod Brewery up here, if they have live music, or any other businesses that have events, or organizations, it will all be on there. Everything you can think of. Even the VFW events will be on there,” Mason said.

“I think this is exactly what CVBs are supposed to be investing in. This is fantastic. It reaches every single person who has a smart phone,” remarked Commissioner Adam Craft.

Yodel will launch May 27, according to Garrett, a day the CVB is very excited for.

The CVB board also announced they have advertised in the Cincinnati Red’s Yearbook, and as a result of purchasing the advertisements, have received several Red’s game tickets, which they will be giving away during events.

The CVB board also acknowledged their new logo, and the launch of their new website, which focuses on being mobile friendly.
