PREBLE COUNTY — Four Preble County teams brought home wins on the gridiron this past Friday.

Arrows roll to 3rd straight win

CAMDEN – Preble Shawnee raced out to a 24-0 lead over visiting Thurgood Marshall on its way to a 31-22 win.

The win was Shawnee’s third straight and improved the Arrows record 3-2.

Isaac Blankenship scored on a 4-run and Reece Smith caught a 29-yard TD pass from Brody Morton to give Shawnee a 14-0 first quarter lead.

In the second quarter, the Arrows got a 30-yard field goal from Colton Schroeder and a 27-yard TD pass from Morton to Blakenship for a 24-0 lead.

Thurgood Marshall added a late score and two-point conversion to get within 24-8 at the half.

Blankenship’s third TD of the game, a 1-yard, extended the Arrows lead to 31-8 in the third quarter.

Thurgood Marshall got a 50-yard TD run in the third and a 45-yard TD pass in the fourth to close the gap but could not get any close.

Shawnee will host Mississinawa Valley on Friday, Sept. 22 for its homecoming game.

Trail snaps 2-game skid

NEW PARIS – Chase Ruebush and Jamison Watts combined for more than 400 rushing yards to lead National Trail to a 61-21 win overvisiting Dixie on Friday.

Ruebush rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, while Watts had 13 carries for 163 yards and four touchdowns to help the Blazers snap a two-game losing streak.

Trail jumped out to a 21-7 lead after the first quarter and extended its lead to 47-7 by halftime.

Korbin Sullivan and Jody Wintrow each added touchdowns for the Blazers.

Trail, now 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Western Ohio Athletic Conference, will visit Arcanum on Friday.

North continues to light up scoreboard

LEWISBURG – Tri-County North continued to light up the scoreboard last Friday as Panthers rolled to a 42-20 win over visiting Arcanum.

In their last three games, all wins, North has scored 79, 49 and 42 points.

Logan Flory got the scoring started returning the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. Colton Vanwinkle followed with a 14-yard run a few minutes later to give North a 15-0 lead.

Mason Givens extended the Panthers lead to 22-6 with a TD run on fourth down.

Vanwinkle finished the game with 182 yards and three touchdown on 26 carries.

North, now 3-2, 2-1 WOAC, will be on the road Friday at Tri-Village.

South back in win column

UNION CITY – Cais Kingsley scored three touchdowns to lead Twin Valley South to a 35-7 win over Mississinawa Valley on Friday.

Kingsley scored on runs of 29 and 12 yards in the first and third quarters and caught a 40-yard touchdown in the first quarter to help the Panthers build a 35-0 lead.

Cole Bishop passed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 6-of-8 attempts.

Brayden Koeller added a 2-yard TD in the first quarter to put the Panthers up 21-0.

Bishop tossed a 9-yard TD pass to Janden Ankrom in the second for a 35-0 lead.

South, now 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the WOAC, is scheduled to host Ansonia (5-0, 3-0) on Friday.
