North girls split, boys fall in opener

NEW PARIS — Eaton used a big second quarter and forced National Trail into 17 turnovers en route to a 66-52 season opening win in boys’ basketball on Friday, Dec. 1.

KETTERING — Sophomore guard Kaylah Thornton repeatedly weaved through Northmont defenders in the lane Wednesday night to score 24 points and snare 11 rebounds as the Lady Firebirds posted a runaway 52-39 victory.

EATON — Franklin used a 12-0 run over the final four and a half minutes of the first half to pull away from Eaton, then held on for a 52-39 on the Eagles home court on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
