Church bazaar

West Manchester United Methodist Church’s bazaar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The sale will include handmade crafts from local residents. Lunch stand provided. Homemade soups, hot dogs, pies, beverages. Proceeds support the Women’s Fellowship.

Smorgasbord

Campbellstown United Church of Christ will host its annual smorgasbord on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 4:30-6:30 pm. The all-you-can-eat menu includes Swiss steak, pork loin, real mashed potatoes, gravy, chicken and noodles, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes, salads and desserts. The cost is $8 for adults, $3.50 for children under 12, and children 5 and under eat for free. The church is located west of Eaton at 2890 W. Florence-Campbellstown Rd. All are welcome.

Southern Gospel Concert

There will be a concert featuring The Homeland Singers at Eaton United Church of Christ, 113 W. Decatur St., Eaton on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m.

Griefshare: Surviving the Holidays

No matter how long it’s been since your loved once died, grief can make the holidays a painful time. First Southern Baptist Church in Camden has extended an invitation for the public to join a seminar to help those dealing with grief survive the holidays and discover new reasons to enjoy them again. Griefshare: Surviving the Holidays will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9-11 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church, 35 N. Liberty St., Camden. Fifty-five Plus Luncheon

The next Fifty-five Plus luncheon at Eaton United Methodist Church, 120 N. Maple St., Eaton, will be held at noon on Thursday, Nov. 5. The meal will be fried chicken and potatoes, salad and dessert. Guest speaker will be Sheriff Michael Simpson, speaking about drugs. Guests are welcome.

Free meal

The Free Community Meal at Gratis Church of the Brethren will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 6-7:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Ohio 503 and Mack Street in Gratis. The meal will be a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Holiday bazaar

The Sugar Valley United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Ohio 732 and Camden Sugar-Valley Road will be holding its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. They will have soup and sandwiches for lunch, crafts, baked goods to sell as well as some slightly used miscellaneous items for sale. There will be items for kids to buy for their parents and have them wrapped as well.

Southern gospel concert

The Homeland Singers will perform at Lewisburg First United Church of Christ, 400 N. Main St., Lewisburg, on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. A love offering will be taken. There will be a chili carry-in following the concert.

Community dinner

Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, will have its monthly Community Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 19. There is no charge for the meal which is served from 4-5:30 p.m. in the church hall. Enter at the entrance off the parking lot. Anyone in the community is welcome. The church hall is handicap accessible. For information call 456-3380. The next community dinners will be onWednesday, Dec. 30.

Annual Holiday Bazaar

The Trinity Luteheran Church, 511 N. Commerce Street in Lewisburg will be hosting its annual Holiday Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A variety of vendors will feature items like Christmas crafts, wooden crafts and furniture, jewelry, baked goods, jams, candy, Tupperware, AVON products, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Origami Owl, Thirty-One, Perfectly Posh, Velata, Celebrating Home, Watkins, Tastefully Simple, Younique Makeup, purses, Letter to Santa and Essential Oils. A lunch stand will also be available.

Grandma’s Cupboard

St. Anne’s Sodality of Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, will present Grandma’s Cupboard, its Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon, on Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., in the church hall and basement. Lunch of homemade soups, salads, barbeque and hot dog sandwiches with drinks and dessert will be served both days from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. There are crafts of all kinds, home décor, holiday decorations, candles, baby items, wood crafts, quilts, hand-crocheted and knitted items, aprons, wreaths, home-baked pies, cakes, breads, cookies, jams, jellies, items too numerous to mention. Check out the display of candy, including hand-dipped chocolates, and buckeyes, hard tack, caramels and peanut brittle, assorted chocolates, and novelty items. Salem Lutheran Church

S.O.S. For Ladies only on Nov. 6 will be painting ceramic flower plates at a cost of $20 at 6 p.m. in New Lebanon. Sr. Citizens Breakfast BINGO will be Saturday, Nov. 7. Sign up at the church or call 937-733-6560 or email LIndsay Watson at [email protected]. Catechism Class will not meet Nov. 1.

CUMC breakfast

Camden United Methodist Church’s “All You Can Eat Breakfast,” will be held the fourth Saturday of every month, 7-11 a.m. Cost is $6.

WACOCA Thanksgiving Service

The WACOCA Thanksgiving Service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church at 7 pm. on Sunday, Nov. 22. Come for a service, fellowship, refreshments and an offering for the West Alexandria Foodbank.

WACB Turkey Supper

West Alexandria Church of the Brethren’s Annual Turkey Supper is Saturday, Nov. 14, from 4:30-7 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $3.50 for children and kids under 4 eat free. The church is located at 22 East Oak Street, West Alexandria.

St. John Church

St. John Church in West Alexandria will have no choir or youth meet on Wednesday, Nov. 25 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sunday, Nov. 29, will be the First Sunday in Advent-Hope and New Member Sunday with a spaghetti dinner sponsored by the youth group.

Salem Lutheran Church

The Annual Congregational Business Meeting will be Sunday, Nov. 8, following worship. The Women of the Church will have their Thankoffering-Ingathering during Worship on Nov. 8, and election of officers will be conducted, as well.

Jr. Lutherans, for ages Preschool through sixth grade, meets every Wednesday with a meal at 6 p.m. and program from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and will continue to meet Wednesday evenings until the Lenten Season next Spring. However, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, Jr. Lutherans will not meet Wednesday, Nov. 25.

There will be no choir practices on Wednesday, Nov. 25 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Social Outings of Salem “S.O.S.” For ladies only — On Nov. 6, we will be painting ceramic flower plates at a cost of $20 at 6 p.m. in New Lebanon.

Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study will meet Nov. 21, and every third Saturday, beginning at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast, fellowship, Bible study and prayer.

It’s time, again, to order Christmas Poinsettias in the Church Library. Cost is $6 for a six inch pot with 4-6 large red blooms, wrapped in foil. A flower can be dedicated in honor, in memory of, or to the Glory of God. Deadline to order is Sunday, Dec. 6.

Go Ministries

Go Ministries International has moved from 5125 U.S. 40, New Paris to West Orchard Street, in West Manchester. This is just eight miles from its former location. Go Ministries is a full gospel/non-denominational church with something for the entire family. Sunday worship and children’s church is at 10:30 a.m. Bible study and Soldiers for Christ Youth services are Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Live bluegrass the first Friday of every month and southern gospel national and local groups, 7-9 p.m. Admission is free and a love offering will be received.
