Ice Cream Social

Eaton United Church of Christ annual Ice Cream Social is Saturday, July 18, from 5-7 p.m. at the church located at 113 W. Decatur St. The menu includes sandwiches: sloppy joe, creamed turkey & hot dogs; soups: potato and chicken noodle; side dishes: potato salad, cole slaw, apple salad, broccoli salad, deviled eggs and baked beans; deserts: fresh fruit pies, angel food cake and homemade ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and peanut butter.)

Outdoor Family Movie Night

The Eaton Church of the Brethren is hosting an outdoor family movie night on Friday, July 24. All ages are welcome to attend and watch the movie Epic. Pre-movie activites begin at 8 p.m. with the movie starting at 9:15 p.m. There will be free popcorn and a consession stand available. All attendees will need to bring their own seating. Free Community Dinner

The Gratis Church of the Brethren will host a free community dinner on Tuesday, July 21 from 6 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. The church will serve sloppy joes, hot dogs, and fixings. They are located on the corner of Route 503 and Mack Street in Gratis.

Everest VBS

The Lewisburg United Methodist Church will be hosting their summer kids event called Everest VBS. The event will be hosted at the church July 12-16. At Everest, kids discover what it means to hold on to God’s mighty power in everyday life. Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and dig into yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, Kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something call God sightings. Each day concludes with Summit Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join daily for this special time at 5 p.m. for an evening meal followed by VBS. Kids at Everest VBS will join a local missions effort to provide school supplies to children in the Lewisburg area. Everest is for kids from 3-years old to entering fifth grade and will run from 5:45-8:15 p.m. each evening. VBS in Camden

The First Southern Baptist Church in Camden invites those 5 years old through 12th grade to experience 2015 “Journey off the Map” Vacation Bible School. From 6-8:30 p.m. nightly, July 12-17, it will be a week of learning about what the Bible has to say about the love of God. Call 937-452-7291 for more information.

Community dinner

Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, will have its monthly Community Dinner on Thursday, June 25. It will be a cookout with all-you-can-eat burgers and hot dogs. There is no charge for the meal which is served from 4-5:30 p.m. in the church hall. Enter at the entrance off the parking lot. Anyone in the community is welcome. The church hall, is handicap accessible. For information call 456-3380.

The next community dinner will be held July 30.

Breakfast

Camden United Methodist Church’s “All You Can Eat Breakfast,” will be held the fourth Saturday of every month, 7-11 a.m. Cost is $6.

Go Ministries

Go Ministries International has moved from 5125 U.S. 40, New Paris to West Orchard Street, in West Manchester. This is just eight miles from its former location. Go Ministries is a full gospel/non-denominational church with something for the entire family. Sunday worship and children’s church is at 10:30 a.m. Bible study and Soldiers for Christ Youth services are Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Live bluegrass the first Friday of every month and southern gospel national and local groups, 7-9 p.m. Admission is free and a love offering will be received.
