Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt Results

Congratulations to the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt winners, listed first through third places: Walking to three years of age: Hadaley Rehmert, Addyson Bassler and Owen Matthews. Ages four to seven: Trinity Kaye, Kayson Clear and Sammy Back. Ages eight through twelve: Layla Roberts, Kaylee Mish and Maddi Pope.

Kiwanis Chicken BBQ

Kiwanis Club is offering their annual BBQ Chicken meal beginning at 11 a.m. until sold out on Sunday, April 30 at the WA Fire House, 25 E. Dayton Street. Cost is $7 each and carry-out is available. Proceeds help fund the many community projects of the club including the annual scholarship for a qualifying senior at Twin Valley South High School. Farmer’s Market

Beginning May 4, come and support the WA Celebration Committee’s weekly Farmers’ Market every Thursday from 5-8 p.m., from May through the end of August. We showcase local food and produce vendors, local entertainment and independent consultants, including but not limited to Avon and Tupperware, and many local crafters who offer incredible deals! Space still available if you wish to be a vendor. We offer live music, hot food, cold beverages, free parking and have public restrooms. Community Cookbooks are available at the Farmer’s Market and the Pin Up Shoppe at 50 W. Second Street. These hard-bound, three-ring cookbooks lie flat, while open, for your convenience and contain 600 recipes submitted by our residents! Money raised is used by the Celebration Committee to provide the community with fireworks for July 4, and new toys for Santa Villa. American Legion

The next Steak Fry is Saturday, May 6, from 5-7:30 p.m.

Rock the Juke Box including a 50/50 raffle on Friday, May 19, from 8 p.m.-midnight.

The Senior Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4p.m. for music and dancing.

Euchre and Ladies Night every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. with a 50/50 raffle at James E. Ryan, Post 322, 1477 Ohio 503 S.

Get your four-some together for the SAL Golf Tourney to take place Sunday, May 21.

Rod and Gun Club

The Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club is sponsoring its annual Turkey Shoots each Sunday at 1p.m. through the end of April. This event is open to the public and we always hope to see a nice crowd.

MS Walk

A Multiple Sclerosis Walk will be held Saturday, May 13, at Peace Park, on Route 35, with registration at 10a.m. and Walk beginning at 11a.m.. Concert in the Park begins at noon with Kelly Crank, and at 1 p.m. we will be featuring Ashley Taylor. Food is available and raffle includes wonderful items, also starting at noon. All ages are encouraged to walk and raise support and awareness for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Preble County, Ohio Valley Chapter. Come, sign up your team of walkers. WAFD/EMS

Every Thursday evening doors open at 5 p.m. and BINGO calling starts at 6 p.m. at 25 E. Dayton Street. Come early, get a good seat and start your luck with some pull-offs! All proceeds benefit the West Alexandria Firefighters Association and Department.

Foodbank

The Foodbank served 43 families in March. This includes 18 seniors and 36 children for a total of 138 individuals. Needs are shampoo, toothpaste, and bar soap. The Foodbank is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at St. John Lutheran Ingomar and Salem Lutheran Church on the first Sunday of each month.

Church of the Brethren

The next Free Community Meal is Wednesday, May 3, from 5-6:30 p.m. continuing the first Wednesday of each month at Church of the Brethren, 22 East Oak St.

Salem Lutheran Church

A Mother Daughter Banquet will be held Friday, May 5, at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Cost for adults is $9 and for children is $4.50. Come celebrate your mother/daughter status with a meal, Christian fellowship and entertainment.

Middle School Ministry is held every Sunday evening from 7-8:15 p.m. in the church lounge for all middle school students. Contact Pastor Dan for additional information by calling 839-4210.
