EATON — Fun Friday: Join in on this ‘Lunch & Learn’ as we hear from the Chiropractic Professionals from Preble County Chiropractic, Nutrition & Sports Injury Center. This event will take place at The Grange on Friday, September 1 at noon. Please get your ticket ahead of time at the Senior Activities Center, $3 Members, $5 Non Members.

Letter writing to your Elected Officials: Answer the question, “What does Preble County Council on Aging mean to you?” We will be offering papers and pens for you to write letters to your elected officials responding to this question on Friday, Sept. 8. If you are unable to make it the senior activities center on this day, then drop your letter off at the senior center no later than September 13. We will be sharing these letters with our local officials at our Fireside Chat on Sept. 15.

Flu Shots: Flu Shots on Sept. 8 are offered by Walgreens from 1-3 p.m. at the senior center. They take 99 percent of Medicare plans. They do not take Molina healthcare. Call today to reserve your spot 937-456-4947

Basics of Dementia: An education program by the Alzheimer’s Association. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts. This program provides information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment, and much more. Join this free program at the Senior Activities Center on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 6-7 p.m., refreshments provided.

Weight Resistance: In this 45 minute class, one will work with provided exercise bands designed to help build muscle through resistance. The participant can expect to follow a set of exercises which strengthen both the upper and lower body. This class begins Thursday, Sept. 7 from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Senior Activities Center. $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Tai Chi for Health is an excellent exercise program designed by both Tai Chi experts and medical professionals. Tai Chi for Health benefits all people regardless of their physical condition. Many health conditions can be improved by daily practice. Conditions include Arthritis, Back Pain, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Balance and more. This class begin Thursday, Sept. 7 from 10:15-11 a.m. at the Senior Activities Center. $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Stretching/Relaxing: Participants in this class will work with the overall body in standing, sitting, and laying positions. The class will follow a set of exercises designed to gently stretch the body. The final 10 minutes will focus on a guided meditation to relax both the mind and body. This class begins Thursday, Sept. 7 from 1-1:45 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center. $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Closed: We will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day, and Sept. 19 for our yearly All Staff Meeting.
