Corn Hole: The 11th Annual Gratis Eagles’ Corn Hole Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, starting at 10 am. Teams are still needed to make this annual event a success. Teams are $40. Proceeds to support Spina Bifida. Call the Eagles’ at 937-787-4289 to sign up or for information. There will be great food, drinks and fun for all.

Anniversaries: Jack and Rickie Cooper, of Gratis, celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this past Thursday; Andrew and Bailey George (1st); Aaron and Erica Richardson (1st).

Texas: Former Gratis EMS paramedic Tim McIntosh is on the front line in Texas as he is EMS Chief of Port Aransas, which took a direct hit. Tim rode the storm out and is assisting in search efforts. Our prayers are with all rescue workers, their families, and for all the residents affected by the storm, may God watch over them all.

It’s a girl: Congratulations to Devin and Courtney Haber of Camden who had a bouncing baby girl McKenna Elizabeth on Wednesday.

Flood Relief: The Gratis Twp./West Elkton, Gratis & Camden Fire Departments, as well as, Gratis EMS and Police Departments are accepting donations to be sent to Texas. Items include water, non perishable items, socks, toothpaste, tooth brushes, hand sanitizer etc. You can drop off at any of the fire stations on Saturday’s from noon-4 p.m. now through Sept. 30.
