SOUTHER PREBLE COUNTY — Festivities: Black walnuts galore will be falling in Camden. The Annual Camden Black Walnut Festival will be held Oct. 21-22 in downtown Camden. The event will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., both days. Visit for crafts, homemade goods, a huge car show and more.

Soup Dinner: The Camden Somers Twp. Fire Association will hold its first “Zoup” Soup Dinner on Saturday Oct. 21, from 2-5 p.m. at the fire station. There will be a choice of three soups, chicken-n-dumplings, broccoli and cheese and chili, bread & salad, desert and drink for $10 pre-sale, $12 adults at door or $5 for children 5 and under pre-sale or $6 at door. Tickets available at the station manned 24 hours per day, or from any member.

Spaghetti Dinner: The Gasper Twp. Fire Department will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday Oct. 22, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the station. Cost is $10 and will go toward equipment.

Hog Raffle: The Gasper Twp. Fire Department is holding a hog raffle with processing. Tickets are $10 each and can be bought from any firefighter or at the station manned 24 hours per day.

Birthday: Carrie Forrer, Jayden Shafer.

Just Married: Congratulations to Andrew and Cassie Forrer who exchanged vows and became one this past Sunday, Oct. 2, at The Willows in Tipp City, surrounded by family and friends. The couple will honeymoon later in Cancun.
