EUCC Fall Smorgasbord

Eaton United Church of Christ’s annual Fall Smorgasbord is Saturday, Oct. 21, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the church on West Decatur Street. Menu is pan fried chicken, ham, pork chop, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, home grown corn, chicken and noodles, various salads, pie and cake. Cost of the “all you care to eat” meal is $9 for adults; $4 for children (ages 3 and under eat for free.)

Fifty-Five Plus Luncheon

The Fifty-Five Plus luncheon at Eaton United Methodist Church, located at 120 N. Maple Street, will be held at noon on Thursday, Nov. 2. The meal will be turkey, au gratin potatoes, green beans, salads, and desserts. Guest speaker will be Dr. Tom Hardy, Chief of Staff of Dayton Veterans Administration. All guests are welcome.

Senior Citizen BINGO Breakfast

It is time for Salem Lutheran Church’s well-known Senior Citizen BINGO breakfast. The church has put this event on year after year thanks to the incredible support and donations from the community. All donations must be received by Thursday, Nov. 2. They are appreciative of gift cards, coupons, gift items, or food donations. Gift cards, gift certificates, or coupons can be mailed to the church. If you have a prize that needs to be picked up, email Lindsay Watson at [email protected]. The event is reservation only, as seating is limited. The event will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, located 70 East Dayton Street in West Alexandria, in the Fellowship Hall. The event will be on Saturday, Nov. 4. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and breakfast will be served upon being seated. BINGO begins at 9:15 a.m. Reservations may be made by calling Lindsay Watson at 937-733-6560.

Grandma’s Cupboard

St. Anne’s Sodality of Visitation Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, will present Grandma’s Cupboard, their Holiday Bazaar and Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., in the church hall and basement. Lunch of homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches with drinks and dessert will be served on Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. There are crafts of all kinds, home décor, collectibles, holiday decorations, candles, baby items, wood crafts, quilts, hand-crocheted and knitted items, aprons, wreaths, home-baked pies, cakes, breads, cookies, jams, jellies, items too numerous to mention. Check out the display of candy, including hand-dipped chocolates, and buckeyes, hard tack, caramels and peanut brittle, assorted chocolates, and novelty items. Available to purchase are raffle tickets for a hand made quilt, hand crafted jewelry, beautiful afghan, Hummel ornament tree, and Put-in-Bay getaway (plus other gift baskets). Handicap accessible. Trinity Lutheran Holiday Bazaar

The 14th annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on Friday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bazaar will be located at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 511 North Commerce Street in Lewisburg. There will be a variety of vendors including: Christmas crafts, wooden crafts and furniture, jewelry, baked goods, jams and candy, Tupperware, AVON products, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Thirty-One, LuLaRoe, Anti-Labs, Essential Oils, UsBorne Books, vinyl crafts, Origami Owl, Discovery Toys, and Letters to Santa. Griefshare: Surviving the Holidays in Camden

No matter how long it’s been since your loved one has passed, grief can make the holidays a painful time. But there’s hope. Griefshare invites the public to join in and beencouraged to survive the holidays and discover new reasons to enjoy them again. The program will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9-11 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church of Camden, 35 N. Visitation CC Dinner

Visitation Catholic Church, BVM, 407 E. Main Street, Eaton, will have its monthly Community Dinner on Thursdays, Oct. 26, Nov. 30 and Dec. 28. There is no charge for the meal which is served from 4-5:30 p.m. in the church hall. Those who attend should use the entrance off the parking lot. Everyone is welcome. Souper Supper

First United Church of Christ, located at 400 S. Main Street, Lewisburg, will be hosting a Souper Supper on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The meal includes a choice of soup, salad, dessert, and drink. The cost is donation only and the food will be available dine-in or carry-out.

Healing Our Community: a Workshop for Hope

On Saturday, Oct. 28, Eaton Church of the Brethren will be holding “Healing our Community: a Workshop for Hope” from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. This workshop is targeted to the churches of Preble County to be a part of the heroin and opiate crisis. The event will begin with breakfast and include presenters on the topic of addiction and recovery. There will also be time for table conversations with leaders in the community and a plan for choosing action steps enabling each person to make a difference. All churches have been sent an invitation by email. The church is asking that area churches bring three to four people. For further information, call Pastor Laura Thomas at 937-510-8601.

CUMC breakfast

Camden United Methodist Church’s “All You Can Eat Breakfast,” will be held the fourth Saturday of every month, 7-11 a.m. Cost is $6.
