Trick or Treat Beggar’s Night

Beggar’s Night will be held on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31. Come join the Annual Costume Parade starting at LCNB Bank on E. Dayton Street at 5:15 p.m. The Kiwanis Costume Contest will begin at 5:30 at the parking lot across from the library, and trick or treating will be from 6-7:30 p.m.

American Legion Post 322

The next SAL Breakfast is Sunday, Nov. 5 from 8-11 a.m.

A Kids Halloween Party will be held Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Legion, with costume parade, games, pizza and more. Sign up in the Canteen.

A Giving Thanks Carry-in Dinner will be held at the Legion with meat provided, on Monday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Sign-up in the canteen.

BINGO

The West Alexandria Fire Dept. BINGO is held every Thursday with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and BINGO beginning at 6:30 p.m. Early Bird games start at 6:30 p.m. to help out those coming after work to have a little extra time. Kid-friendly atmosphere, but all players must be 18 or over, at 25 E. Dayton Street.

Turkey Shoot, TVRGC

Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club is sponsoring a turkey shoot at 1 p.m. each Sunday through the end of November. The public is welcome, and there is a lunch stand in the clubhouse. Contact H.K. Steiner at 232-4504, Curtis Early at 533-3226 or Paul Price at 248-1083.

Foodbank

Foodbank served 56 families during September. This includes 20 seniors, 63 children and totals 187 individuals. Needs are tuna, chicken noodle and tomato soup, egg noodles and shampoo. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at St. John Lutheran, Ingomar and Salem Lutheran Church on the first Sunday of each month.

The Fall Harvest Party and Hayride for all ages will take place Oct. 29 from 3-6 p.m. at 20 E. South St.

Senior Citizens BINGO Breakfast will be served on Saturday, Nov. 4. with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. and BINGO beginning at 9:15 a.m. Join us for a hearty breakfast and enjoy BINGO with a variety of great prizes from local organizations and businesses. Reservations are required; contact Lindsey Watson at 937-733-6560.

Junior Lutherans, for children ages 3 in Preschool through sixth grade, meet every Wednesday with a meal at 6 p.m. and program at 6:30 p.m.

Adult Bible study meets each Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m. during Jr. Lutherans.

Men’s Breakfast Bible Study meets Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

We will meet for our annual Rake and Run on Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m. Bring your rake to the church parking lot and come ready to Rake and Run!

There will be a dinner held Sunday, Oct. 29, in honor of the 500-year anniversary of the Reformation served immediately following the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service. This meal is sponsored by Salem’s 200-year church anniversary committee.

Veteran’s Service and Soup Lunch will be held Sunday, Nov. 12. WWII veteran Buzz Miller will be sharing his experiences during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. You won’t want to miss this event, sponsored by the 200-year Church Anniversary Committee.
