EATON — Perfect weather made for a great turnout out the 2015 Old-Fashioned Downtown Saturday Night in Eaton on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The display of 418 vehicles and motorcycles kept the crowds busy for blocks. Visitors enjoyed food, live music by Blue Lou and the Mafia, several door prizes and two grand prizes of a transmission which went to a winner in Greenville and an engine, won by an individual in Union, Ohio. The transmission was supplied by Bob Davis of Davis Transmission and the engine was purchased by Miley Construction Services with funds to rebuild and parts provided by Rodney Cobb of Cobb Chevrolet. Labor and machine shop services were provided by Billy Moore of Advance Auto, Richmond, Ind.

Heindl Engineering sponsored the Top 10 Motorcycles at the event.

The event was sponsored by over 50 individuals and businesses, and hosted by Downtown Eaton Inc. (DEI), Eaton Fire and EMS, and the Eaton Police Association.

Chris Miley, president of Downtown Eaton, Inc., was thrilled to pull off another successful event planned by DEI.

“It’s amazing when so many groups can pull together. Our mission is to vitalize the downtown area, and we definitely accomplished that this weekend. It was beautiful weather, and everybody was ready to get out and enjoy the day. We’re very grateful to all of the volunteers, sponsors and vendors, and of course the City of Eaton, that made this event successful. DEI looks forward to continuing this tradition and to expanding the sponsorship of our other downtown activities.”
