EATON — The Preble County Art Association (PCAA) knows how to celebrate the holidays with lots of art-making, art-buying and celebrations. Holiday specials will kick of Dec. 1 from 5-9 p.m. at the Visual Art Center with Arts Night Out, complete with live music, a holiday artist market, a winter wonderland and more. This holiday edition of their ongoing series, will also feature a presentation of the PCAA’s annual Community Report at 5:30 p.m.

Featured artists of the evening include live music from Noah Back, Blacksmith demonstrations by Roy Adams, and artwork for sale by Laura Ceville, Kelsey Daugherty, Whispering Oak Pottery, Gale Bingham, Kristine VanderSchaaff, Erin Abney, Bottle Benders, Lori Daugherty, Sharon Shute, Yetunde Rodrigues, Erica Keener & Preble Clayworks & Apiary. Purchase a glass of handcrafted seasonal wine and bites from The Bistro at Eagle’s Point to boost your holiday spirit while you shop and enjoy the festivities. Feeling generous? Food donations are being accepted on behalf of the HIT Foundation.

Arts Night Out is just the beginning of holiday cheer. Whether an adult or child, there is a festive workshop for you.

Workshops for kids

Santa’s Workshop

Parents, drop your kids off and get some holiday shopping done! This festive workshop will keep kids occupied as they create their own hand built Christmas tree mug and additional holiday projects!

Painting with Santa!

$12 member, $15 non member

Santa is coming to the art center! Santa himself will lead this kid’s workshop and help little ones make their own holiday painting. Parents are welcome to register and paint with their kids.

Its winter break! Kids will create their very own plush penguin and get in the holiday spirit in this step by step workshop.

Kid’s Unwind – Santa Pillow

Friday, Dec. 15

6-8 p.m.

$15 member, $20 non member

This is a great way for kids to engage in a creative activity while parents enjoy themselves in Unwind and Create. This is also a great workshop for children regardless if parents are doing Unwind or not. Kids will create their own unique masterpieces with a different project every month!

*If you are a parent registering for Unwind and Create, you can sign up one or more children at the same time for Kid’s Unwind and get $5 off your total! To be eligible you must register in person with PCAA staff. Offer only valid at time of registration.

Holiday Needle Felting

A new take on holiday favorites. Participants learn a needle felting technique and create festive fiber keepsakes! Beginners are welcome but if you have felting experience be ready to take your skills to the next level! All materials included.

Not Your Grandma’s Christmas Tree

Create the perfect holiday decorations in this hand building ceramics workshop. Participants will learn the skills to create beautiful ceramic Christmas trees in multiple styles and add their own unique flair to their pieces. All materials are included.

Unwind and Create Painting with Santa! With Robert Coveney

Friday, Dec. 15

6-8 p.m.

$20 members, $30 non-members

Unwind and create a work of art while having fun with friends. The Art Center provides all the supplies you need while you provide the creative spirit! These events are open to adults and teens. Those under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Wine will be available for purchase.

Paint Your Own Pottery at the Clay Café

Pick it, paint it, love it. That’s how painted pottery works. Once you have painted your pottery, we fire it in our kilns making your work a forever keepsake.
