Foodbank

The Foodbank served 50 families during April. This includes 18 seniors, 70 children and totals 172 individuals. Items needed are green beans, peas, pancake syrup, and shampoo. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at St. John Lutheran, Ingomar and Salem Lutheran Church on the first Sunday of each month.

Community Garage Sales

West Alexandria Community Garage sales will run May 31, June 1, and 2. No permits are needed during this period.

Lanier Alumni Banquet

Lanier Alumni Banquet will be held at Twin Valley South High School, Saturday June 9. Social hour is at 4:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. The meal is $15 per person. Farmer’s Market

The WA Celebration Committee’s weekly Farmers’ Market meet in Peace Park every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. beginning May 24. All funds raised are used by the Celebration Committee to provide the community with fireworks for July 4, and new toys for Santa Villa in December. Funds also will be used for needed repairs at Santa Villa. Contact Carol Lunsford at 839-4085 for additional information or to reserve your space.

WA/TVS Alumni Banquet

Saturday, June 2, the West Alexandria and Twin Valley South Alumni will have met for 130 years! Doors will open at the Twin Valley South High School for Social Gathering from 4:30-6 p.m. The Banquet and Program begin at 6 p.m. and tickets are $16. All ticket reservations are due by May 30. Tickets are available at Roselius Insurance Agency, Twin Valley Bank, LCNB and the Pin-Up Shoppe in town. American Legion

Memorial Day Services, Sunday, May 27, leave at 8 a.m. to fire a 21-gun salute at the cemeteries. 11a.m. Wreath/Deck ceremony at the Legion Hall, 2 p.m. Memorial Day Service at Sugar Grove, 3 p.m. Lunch and fellowship at Post 322. Order of cemeteries: Salem Lutheran Church, Sugar Hill, Sugar Grove, Shiloh, Enterprise, Twin Valley, Wheatville, and Preble Memory Gardens.

The Senior Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4 p.m. for music and dancing.

Euchre and Ladies Night every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. with a 50/50 raffle at James E. Ryan, Post 322, 1477 Ohio 503 S.

Fire Dept. BINGO

Doors open every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at 25 E. Dayton Street. Early Bird Games and BINGO begin at 6:30 p.m. Kid friendly atmosphere, but all players must be 18-plus.

Calvary Baptist Church
