Back to School Games

Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. at the New Paris Branch: Get ready for school with a game night!

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eaton Branch: Bring the kids and a stuffed animal to hear a story, have a nighttime snack, and make a craft before the stuffed animals spend the night at the library. The next day, kids can pick up their animal and a book of their friend’s adventures. Children of all ages can come dressed in their pajamas! Make sure not to bring the animal your child sleeps with, as it will be at the library all night.

Tween Film Workshop (ages 8-12)

Aug. 8 at 4:15 p.m. at the Eaton Branch: Dialects are an important skill for actors to learn. This hour long program will cover basic instruction on imitating a few different accents and dialects. Tween Film Workshops are monthly programs that focus on one aspect of filmmaking. They provide more detail and less commitment than the Tween Filmmakers Club, and do not require registration.

Make Your Own Stress Ball

Aug. 9 at 4 p.m. at the West Elkton Branch: Kick off the new school year care-free with these D.I.Y. stress balls made from balloons and sand!

Teens (grades 6-12)

Weekly Teen programs at the Eaton Library

On Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m., teens in grades 6-12 can come to the Eaton Library for a weekly program.

Puzzle Room

Solve the mystery of Byron St. Claire’s missing Symphony in this team-based puzzle room! Solve riddles, find clues, and complete the puzzle within one hour, with the help of other teens at your library. Registration is required for this program. Call or register in person at your local branch.

Aug. 14: Animation Club – Enjoy an anime screening with Japanese and Korean style snacks!

Creative Writers Group

Thursday, July 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eaton Branch: If you have a written piece you would like to share, please bring it to the meeting. You will not be expected to share, but you are certainly welcome to do so! Writing activities and prompts will be provided for those who need a little extra inspiration.

Marbled Paper Art Craft

Aug. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eaton Branch: Create your own wall art! For this craft, we will be using nail polish to make marbled designs on watercolor paper. All supplies provided.

Gaming Discussion and Design Group

Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eaton Branch: Want to make your own game but don’t know where to start? Come join the Eaton Library’s new Gaming Discussion and Design Group! You will learn about where to find ideas and resources, and be able to interact with people who also want to make their own games. Meets every first Monday of the month from 6:30-7:30 p.m..

Excel Basics for Beginners

Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Eaton Branch: New to Excel? Learn the difference between cells, rows and columns, as well as basic formulas and functions and formatting techniques. Some computer experience highly preferred.

String Art

Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Camden Branch: Create a design with string art. Register at the Camden Branch or call 937-452-3142 by July 31.

Coasters
