Eaton Library book sale
The next book sale at the Eaton Library will be Saturday, Feb. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 20. Get there early for the best selection of fiction, nonfiction, young adult, and children’s books. The sale is during regular library hours (Mon.-Thur. from 9a-8p; Fri. and Sat from 9a-5p) at 301 North Barron Street. Items have no set prices. All sales are by donation only. Grab what you want and give as much as you can, as all proceeds go to the Eaton Branch Library.
Friends of the Camden Library Book and Bake Sale
Make sure to stop into the Camden Library at 104 S. Main St. from Feb. 8-13 to pick up some great used books and the best baked treats around! All book sales are by donation only. All proceeds go directly to the Camden Library. The sale will be during regular library hours (Mon., Wed., and Thu, 12-8p; Tue., 2-8p; and Fri.-Sat., 10a-2p).
Take Your Child to the Library Day
On Saturday, Feb. 6, every child who visits the West Alexandria Branch Library will be entered into a drawing for a book basket! The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Eaton Valentine Make & Take
Children ages 12 and under can make their own Valentines for family or friends at the Eaton Library. On Saturday, Feb. 6 from 1-2 p.m., the library will provide all the materials to make fun Valentines!
Registration for Spring Storytimes
Registration is now open for the spring storytime sessions at the Eaton Branch Library. Spring sessions will run from March 2 through April 7. Multiple sessions will be available for different age groups from six months to 12 years old. You can sign up in person at the Eaton Library or by calling 937-456-4331.
Robot Hand craft (ages 8-12)
The February tween craft will teach you how to turn some card stock, straws, and string into a working robotic hand! You can make your own robot hand at the following locations:

Storytime sessions
Library storytimes are a great way to give your child a jump-start on reading. The following libraries are having storytimes for children 11 and under:
New Paris Library on Feb. 8, Feb. 15, and Feb. 29 at 5 p.m. each day.
Camden Library on Feb. 9, Feb. 16, and Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m. each day.
New Paris Valentine Drop-In
Get ready for Valentine’s Day at the New Paris Library. On Friday, Feb. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., stop in to make a card for your Valentine! All supplies will be provided by the library.
Technogeek at the library
Come see the West Manchester and Eldorado Libraries’ newest gadgets on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 4:30 p.m. Cubelets is a robot construction system, and children as young as four can learn to build a robot. We’ll also be learning electronics with Snap Circuits. By following some colorful guides, you can build exciting projects like FM radios, digital voice recorders, doorbells, and more.
Teens (grades 6-12)
Anime Club
If you’re into anime, make sure to register for the Eaton Library’s Teen Anime Club. The next meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 3:30 p.m. We’ll watch anime, eat Japanese snacks, and make anime- and manga-inspired crafts. Call 937-456-4331 or stop by the Eaton Library to sign up.
Teen Creative Writing Group
Local teens can spur their creative juices at the Teen “Write On!” writing club. We’ll have creative writing prompts, snacks, and you can talk with other teens about writing. You can share aloud, but you don’t have to.
Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 3:30 p.m. at the Eaton Branch Library (301 N. Barron St.). Registration is required. Register in person at the library or call 937-456-4331.
Tabletop Games
Play awesome tabletop games, like Marvel Memory, Zombie-opoly, Zelda Yahtzee, and more at the library! Library branches will host tabletop gaming programs in January and February. See when the program is heading to your local library:

Play other Splatoon players from around the world in the Turf War Arena at the Eaton Library on Friday, Feb. 12 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. The local teen with the highest number of Battle Points will win a squid hat. Brown Memorial Library and Lewisburg history – “A small-town library with a heart”
The Preble County Genealogical Society is presenting a program with Dianna Oda, Director of the Brown Memorial Library in Lewisburg. The public is invited to hear the presentation, which will focus on the history of the building that houses Brown Memorial Library, which was bequeathed by Miss Anna Brown to the Village of Lewisburg for the specific use as a library upon her death in 1934. She’ll also delve into some of the history of the Village of Lewisburg.
The program is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Preble County District Library meeting room at 450 S. Barron St. in Eaton.
Michigan author to present on ‘Dollar-a-Day Boys’
The Civilian Conservation Corps was a popular program during the Great Depression, and Preble County had a camp about two miles southeast of Eaton. Michigan-based author Bill Jamerson will present a music and storytelling program about the CCC on Saturday, March 5 at 1 p.m. It will be held at the Preble County District Library meeting room at 450 S. Barron St. in Eaton. It’s free, open to the public, and will include refreshments, including CCC cookies.
Novel Discussion Book Club
Join us at the Eaton Branch of Preble County District Library for our monthly book discussion. This month, we’ll meet Thursday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss “Sworn to Silence” by Linda Castillo. The Novel Discussion book club meets the third Thursday of every month.
