EATON — According to Preble County Fine Arts Executive Diretcor Vicky Fanberg, it’s that time of year for getting outside, leaving windows open, bike riding to work and simply marveling over the magnificence of nature’s transformational rebirth. It’s also time when the Preble County Art Association begins preparing for its annual Juried Art Show at the Visual Arts Center in Eaton.

“We are very fortunate to have a number of locally gifted professional and amateur artists from Preble County display art for the show,” Fanberg said in a press release.

This year the exhibit will be on display from May 20-July 15, with a reception May 20, 6-8 p.m.

The juror for the show will be Kelly Sexton, Director of Programs & Education for K12 Gallery & TEJAS in Dayton. Sexton received her BFA from Wright State University in 2008. She has served as Program Director for K12 Gallery & TEJAS since 2007 and became Director of Education in 2014. Sexton was awarded a partnership-of-the-year award for her work with Career Based Intervention at Mound Street Academy in 2011, and was Chair of Community Programs for Youth through UpDayton in 2010. As an affiliate for the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, she enjoys the process of facilitating the adjudication and exhibition for teens in nine counties across the Miami Valley.

Any local artist, amateur or professional, wishing to showcase their talents in the show may submit entries in any medium. No age limit necessary. Those mediums consist of but are not limited to: oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, photography, printmaking, pastel, mixed media, sculpture, wood, textiles, and pottery.
