EATON — After a nearly two-year hiatus, the Eaton Area Community Band has announced its upcoming Christmas concert, which will be performed at the Eaton High School Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m.

The EACB is made up of musicians from Eaton and surrounding communities and includes some members of the EHS Band. The group is directed by Tad Stewart, former Director of Bands for Eaton Community Schools.

“The EACB strives to provide their audience with variety,” Stewart said in a press release. “Although the holiday concert is heavy with Christmas music, even traditional tunes are presented in refreshing new ways. Plus, there are a few surprises — a little known by wonderful Sousa march called ‘New York Hippodrome,’ a beautiful arrangement of ‘Precious Lord, Take My Hand’ with flute soloist Daniel Bell, and an exciting flamenco-style piece titled ‘Fuego del Alma,’ featuring senior trumpet soloist Henry Kochensparger.”

“We hope you will join us for this exciting start of Christmas week,” Stewart added.

Admission to the concert is free.

Event set for Sunday, Dec. 19
