Euchre Tournament, Dance, Corn Hole Tournament

TVS Football Boosters Euchre Tournament and Dance takes place Friday, July 22, at the American Legion, 1477 Ohio 503 South. The corn hole tournament is weather permitting. Doors open at 6 p.m., Euchre starts at 6:30 p.m. and the cost of $20 per person includes euchre, dance, snacks, pop and water. Limited availability for euchre is 32 spots. Pre-registration and payment is required with details below.

Doors open at 8 p.m. for the dance. DJ begins after cards finish. Presale cost is $8, or $10 at the door. BYOB and a shot bar will be available for those aged 21 and over. A variety of raffled items will be available to bid on, plus a 50/50 raffle, with drawing at 11 p.m.

Corn Hole Tournament is weather permitting. Registration begins at 6 p.m. that day at $20 per team, and must be signed up as a 2-player team. Rounds and pay-out will be determined by how many sign up.

Community Garage Sale

Community Garage Sale week take place this week in the village. There will be no sale permits required during these days. The next Community Garage Sale will be the first week in August, and then the second week of October, coinciding with the Kiwanis Oktoberfest.

Preble County Farmers Market

Preble County Farmers Market is open for business every second and fourth Tuesday at the Salem Lutheran Church parking lot, 70 E. Dayton St., from 6-8 p.m. Come find local crafts, farm-raised meats, home-grown produce, and baked-goods of all kinds.

American Legion Post 322

Euchre every Wednesday at 7 p.m. $5 entrance fee, 50/50 raffle.

Senior Fun Bunch meets every Thursday from 1-4 p.m.

Rock the Jukebox the third Friday of every month at the American legion, Post 322, Ohio 503 South.

Coffeehouse Conversations

Kierston’s Coffeestop, located at 12 S. Main Street, is hosting Coffeehouse Conversations every Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop in for complimentary coffee, a cookie, or baked-good. Bring a friend and pull up a chair for an open, honest, and friendly conversation about faith, life, and today’s social issues and how they relate to the Bible, with a local pastor.

WA Library Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading storytimes and crafts include multi-aged programs with fun activities, dances, songs, stories and more.

Campfire Tales will take place regularly every Wednesday at 1 p.m. throughout July.

Kids can pick up a Weekly Grab and Go Kit that they can complete at the library or take home and finish later. Teen/Tween Grab and Go Kits are outdoor-themed all summer.

Lego Club, for all school-aged children, meets the last Saturday of each month from noon to 1p.m. Build, complete challenges and have fun. Use the library’s Legos or bring your own. Please label your container if bringing Legos from home.

Spend s’more family time with us, Tuesday, July 12, at 5:30 p.m., and build a solar s’more oven with Miss Stephanee and Miss Autumn who have all your s’more needs covered with crafts and activities for all ages.

Foodbank

The Foodbank continues to be open regular hours from 10 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Wednesdays at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 937-839-1615 for additional information. Anyone in need of food may come to the Foodbank and remain outside in your vehicle. We are thankful for the continuing support of our community and look forward to serving you.

VBS at Calvary Baptist Church

Community Christian Church

Church of the Brethren

The Annual Church Picnic will take place on Sunday, July 10. Join us for socially-distanced services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in person, on 99.5 FM in the church parking lot at 22 E. Oak St., or live on the WACOB Facebook page.

Salem Lutheran Church

Salem Offices will be closed through 18. Bible Study groups will not meet during that week.

Salem’s Women will be holding their Summer Splash on Thursday, July 14, in the Fellowship Hall. RSVP by calling the church office at 937-839-4210.

The NALC Disaster Response currently needs empty backpacks and Bibles for children and teens. The deadline for all donations is Sunday July 31.

The next Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast is Saturday, July 16, at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Salem Youth will be partnering with Next Step Ministries the week of June 26-July 2, in Elliott County, Kentucky, where they will be working construction on homes, doing landscaping, creating trails, and creating an outdoor worship area.

Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study meets Saturday, June 18, at 7:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. All men are welcome to attend.

Salem will be conducting a field trip on Saturday, July 12 to the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY. Coups for Troops accepts your unwanted coupons to be sent to military commissaries overseas where they are accepted up to 2 months past expiration. Place them in the church library basket or contact Linda Wick. Please no local restaurants or pet supplies.
